چکیده

In energy geostructures, the soil-structure interface is subjected to thermo-mechanical loads. this study, a non-isothermal model based on critical state theory developed from granular constitutive under isothermal conditions. The capable of capturing effect temperature sand/clay-structure interfaces constant normal load and stiffness First, was verified for sand-structure in Then, it calibrated clay-structure On one hand, well-defined peak shear stress and, other void ratio were captured reproduced by model. importance thickness determination some differences between thicknesses are discussed detail. additional parameters have physical meanings can be determined laboratory tests. modeling predictions good agreement with experimental results, main trends properly reproduced.

A critical review on structure-soil-structure interaction

The purpose of this paper is to review computational methods in structure-soil-structure interaction. As a result of globalization, buildings are located close to each other. This issue happens especially in big cities, making the study of structure-soil-structure interaction as an essential part of structural design process. The effect of soil medium, on which the building structure stands, es...

mortality forecasting based on lee-carter model

over the past decades a number of approaches have been applied for forecasting mortality. in 1992, a new method for long-run forecast of the level and age pattern of mortality was published by lee and carter. this method was welcomed by many authors so it was extended through a wider class of generalized, parametric and nonlinear model. this model represents one of the most influential recent d...

On a non-isothermal diffuse interface model for two-phase flows of incompressible fluids

We introduce a diffuse interface model describing the evolution of a mixture of two different viscous incompressible fluids of equal density. The main novelty of the present contribution consists in the fact that the effects of temperature on the flow are taken into account. In the mathematical model, the evolution of the velocity u is ruled by the Navier-Stokes system with temperaturedependent...

Influence of rotations on the critical state of soil mechanics

The ability of grains to rotate can play a crucial role on the collective behavior of granular media. It has been observed in computer simulations that imposing a torque at the contacts modifies the force chains, making support chains less important. In this work we investigate the effect of a gradual hindering of the grains rotations on the so-called critical state of soil mechanics. The criti...
